LED Rapidly Flashing White

Troubleshoot rapid white LED flashing on your Operator.

2 min read

A rapidly flashing white LED indicates your Operator is powered on but having difficulty communicating with your computer. This is typically a USB connection issue.

Quick fixes

1. Try a different USB cable

This is often the cause. Test with:

  • The included USB cable
  • Another high-quality USB-C cable
  • A cable you know works for data transfer

2. Try different USB ports

Some ports work better than others:

  • Test multiple ports on your computer
  • Try both USB-A and USB-C ports if available
  • Avoid USB 3.0 hubs or adapters

3. Connect directly

Remove any devices between the Operator and your computer:

  • Don’t use USB hubs
  • Don’t use USB adapters
  • Connect straight to your computer’s built-in ports

If the issue persists

The problem may be with your computer’s USB configuration:

Inspect the USB port

Look for debris, damage, or bent pins in the port.

Update USB drivers (Windows®)

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers”
  3. Right-click each item and select “Update driver”
  4. Restart your computer

Check for conflicts

Other software or devices may be interfering:

  • Close unnecessary applications
  • Disconnect other USB devices
  • Check for conflicting USB management software

Test on another computer

If available, try your Operator on a different computer. This helps determine if the issue is:

  • Computer-specific (works on other computers)
  • Device-specific (same issue on all computers)
