Currently Unsupported Games

Games with special hardware that aren't fully supported yet.

2 min read

Both the GB Operator and SN Operator support virtually all officially licensed games. However, a small number of games with unusual hardware have limited or no support.

Game Boy® limitations

Multicarts

Cartridges containing multiple games are not supported for playing through Playback.

SD card flashcarts

Devices like the EZ Flash and Everdrive series that store games on SD cards are not supported. See Flashcart Support for details.

SNES® limitations

Real-time clock games

Games with real-time clock features have limited support:

ChipStatusAffected Games
S-RTCGame and saves work, RTC does notDaikaijuu Monogatari II
RTC-4513Game and saves work, RTC does notSatellaview titles

The games are fully playable, but time-based features won’t track real time.

ST010/ST011 games

Games using ST010 or ST011 coprocessors are playable but use software emulation for these chips:

  • F1 ROC II: Race of Champions
  • Hayazashi Nidan Morita Shogi

Why some games don’t work

Games may be unsupported due to:

  • Unusual MBCs — Non-standard memory controllers that require special handling
  • Custom hardware — Sensors, infrared, or other special components
  • Modified chips — Counterfeit cartridges with non-standard behavior
  • Complex save mechanisms — Save systems that differ from standard implementations

Reporting issues

If you have a licensed game that doesn’t work:

  1. Make sure your cartridge pins are clean
  2. Try the game multiple times
  3. Contact us with:
    • Game title and region
    • What happens when you try to use it
    • Photos of the cartridge if possible

We actively work to expand compatibility and may be able to add support in a future update.

Counterfeit and reproduction games

Reproduction cartridges have unpredictable compatibility. Even if we add support for one counterfeit version of a game, other counterfeit versions may use different hardware and still not work.
