Playback stores various data on your computer, including save backups, settings, and logs. Here’s where to find everything.
Main data folder

Accessing the folder
Windows:
- Press Win + R
- Type
%localappdata%\Epilogue\Playback - Press Enter
macOS:
- Open Finder
- Press Cmd + Shift + G
- Paste
~/Library/Application Support/Epilogue/Playback - Press Enter
Linux: Open a terminal and navigate to ~/.local/share/Epilogue/Playback/
Folder contents
Vault (save backups)

The Vault contains automatic backups of your game saves, organized by game title. Each backup is timestamped.

Crash logs

Look for runtime.txt in the crashes folder when reporting issues.

Shaders
Custom shaders are stored in a shaders folder. To access it:
- Start any game
- Click the Shaders button in the control bar
- Select Install Shaders…
This opens the shaders folder directly.

Backing up your data
To back up all your Playback data:
- Navigate to the main data folder for your platform
- Copy the entire
Playbackfolder to a safe location
This preserves your:
- Save vault (all automatic backups)
- Settings and preferences
- Custom shaders
