The Emulator Settings contain options provided by Playback alongside any core-specific settings. Access them by going to Settings > Emulator.
Core-specific settings vary depending on which emulator core you’re using. This article covers the settings provided by Playback itself.
System
| Setting | Options | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fast-forward Speed | 0.25x to 10.0x | 2.0x | Speed multiplier when fast-forwarding. Speeds higher than 2x may cause issues with Autosave to Cartridge. |
| Rewind Buffer Size | 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB | 32 MB | Memory reserved for rewind history. Larger buffers allow longer rewind but may cause system instability. |
| Rewind Granularity | Every 1 frame (Smoothest) to Every 6 frames (Least precise) | Every 1 frame | How often a state is saved for rewinding. Higher values use less memory but are less precise. |
| Rewind Speed | 0.25x to 10.0x | 1.0x | Playback speed of the rewind animation. |
| High Fidelity Mode | Enabled / Disabled | Disabled | Runs audio and video at rates close to original hardware. Increases CPU usage — disable if you notice low framerates. |
| RTC Battery State Emulation | Enabled / Disabled | Disabled | Matches emulator RTC state to your cartridge’s battery. Leave Disabled if your cartridge battery is dry but you still want time-based in-game events. |
| In-game save verifications | Enabled / Disabled | Disabled | Enables integrity checks for save data during gameplay. |
Input & Auxiliary Devices
| Setting | Options | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gamepad rumble | Enabled / Disabled | Enabled | Enables rumble/vibration for games that support it. For better compatibility, also enable Game Boy® Player Rumble in the core settings. |
