Controls
Configure controllers, keyboard mappings, and input devices.

The Controls settings let you configure how you control your games, whether using a gamepad, keyboard, or specialized peripherals.
Access controls by going to Settings > Controls.
Player selection
The SN Operator supports 2-player games. Select which player’s controls you want to configure:
- Player 1 — Primary controller
- Player 2 — Second controller for local co-op
Input device types
Select the input device type from the dropdown:

| Gamepad | Any connected USB or Bluetooth controller |
| Mouse | For games with mouse support (SNES® Mouse games via SN Operator) |
| Light Gun | For light gun games (Super Scope games via SN Operator) |

Rebinding keys
- Select Keyboard from the input dropdown
- Click Rebind Keys
- Press the key you want to assign for each button prompt
Gamepad setup
Selecting a controller
- Connect your controller to your computer
- Open Settings > Controls
- Select your controller from the dropdown
Playback recognizes most controllers automatically. If your controller isn’t detected, see Adding Unsupported Controllers.
Testing your controller
Press buttons on your controller to see them reflected on screen in real-time. This helps verify all buttons are detected correctly.

System shortcuts
These shortcuts work during gameplay regardless of your bindings:

| Tab | Release mouse capture |
Tips
- Connect your controller before launching Playback for best detection
- Use wired connections for the lowest input latency
- Game Boy® games only use A, B, Start, Select, and D-Pad
- SNES games add X, Y, L, and R buttons
